Teen pregnancy in America is an epidemic that is clearly seeing high numbers. According to an article published on google news, evidence shows a link between the frequent use of alcohol and unsafe sex leading to unplanned teenage pregnancy.
When it comes to views of why most teen girls get pregnant I dont think that they were somehow influenced by the media but I do agree that the media; including videos, and the music industry play a major role in how teenage girls and boys view sex and their personal identities.
I think that parents need to get more involved with their childrens lives. they need to set stricter curfews, and know what their kids are doing when they are not home. It might sound like a difficult task, but every effort is worth not having your 13 to 18 year old child having an unplanned pregnancy.

  1. I agree with you whole heartedly and I think that with the way that society is going, this problem will only get worse if we dont change.

  2. I agree with you as well! I also feel as if young girls in this period of time feel much more mature and grow up to quickly. This is mostly due to not having a balanced family life and are pressured into doing things at an early age. Parents/gaurdians need to get more involoved with their teens because the rise of teen pregnacy is rising!

  3. i agree with your post i definitely think that parent should be more involved with their teens lives, just because a child is 16,17,18 even 20 doesnt mean that they couldn't use their parents in their lives. as far as the media and music and tv goes i think this is what makes kids grow up too fast they learn from what they see and here.

  4. I agree with your views on teen pregnancy. Parents need to get involved and stay involved with their children. Children between the ages of 16-20 act as though they are not listening to their parents or don't want their parents involved. But they do! I have both seen and experienced what teenagers want. It is also true that the media is no help. The guidelines for morals and self respect has hit low bottom. It is time for intervention from families and the society as a whole.

  5. I agree also but when you are a single parent doing everything there are but so many things you can instill into your child especially a daughter. You can instill as much morals as you can but when these teens set their minds thats it. Overall you make a good point.
